It was a gloriously sunny day at Roundhay Park, the perfect setting for a family day out. The Leeds Asian Festival (the new name for the Leeds Mela) had been much anticipated, after a break last year. Traditionally the word 'Mela' comes from the Sanskrit meaning 'gathering' or 'to meet', it is used for all types of cultural and sporting events. Although mainly held in Indian subcontinent Pakistan,India and Bangladesh, there are many Mela held throughout the UK. you can contact me for British Asian's relevant issues and events ,so it could be filmed or published in newspaper and aired in Asian TV channel along with emaan.tv

Hamara is an urdu term meaning 'OURS' which reflects the community involvement in the planning and development of the project.Based traditionally in the Beeston / Holbeck area, Hamara has recently expanded its work to other parts of the city including Harehills and Hyde Park and also works with over 20 schools across the city. Its latest venture has taken the group overseas to Pakistan and in establishing Hamara Overseas Pakistan Enterprise (HOPE), the organisations aims to reach and assist those who are in real need of our assistance.

The film is directed by British Pakistani film maker Anjum Mir and produced by the renowned media institute of the North 'Eastern Media and Arts Network' (EMAAN).
