“How much does a corporate video production cost?”, has to be one of the toughest questions to answer for any video production company – maybe even harder than explaining the meaning of life itself! OK – that is an exaggeration – but for us at the receiving end this question it is a classic case of, “how long is a piece of string?”
Before we find out how long that piece of string is let’s take a couple of steps back and look at why you are probably asking this question. The most likely answer is that you or someone in your organisation has come to the conclusion that a video will help you solve a problem or provide a better solution to something within your business. The chances are you are right. You have probably also seen a YouTube video production or two – and certainly noticed the massive rise in website video production in general. Video is a great means of communication and forms a vital part of modern online branding, search engine optimisation and promotion. I probably don’t need to go on about the benefits of video as you’ve already come to that conclusion.
Come on… give me the video production cost!
The quick answer is… a short online video production might only cost a few hundred pounds to produce and deliver – but equally it might also cost tens of thousands of pounds! Video production companies who give you a definitive answer at this point are only kidding you and kidding themselves – or they are simply churning out the same old formulaic videos for each and every job they produce without any consideration or care for what you are trying to achieve.
If you are simply looking for a ballpark figure the only one we can give you is that most of the work we produce is within a range of £500 to £10,000. However, we’re not averse to working on budgets higher than this (and have contacts for commissions at the very highest level) – and can equally understand that some films might be able to be produced for somewhat less than £600.
If you want to see what a £500-£1,500 investment can give you then please watch these case studies short films we produced for Leeds City Council. This was shot in a day and edited in two.
We know the above won’t satisfy everyone so here’s some figures as a very rough ballpark:
- 3 customer testimonials, a detailed case study, or a half-day event: £500 – £1000
- A full-day event, a 60-second animation, or a short corporate video: £1000 – £2000
- A detailed corporate video, a set of training videos, or a 2-3 minute animation : £2000 – £3500
- A high-end corporate video, a complex animation or a specialist video training course: £3500 +
Most importantly, we work with clients who have a range of budgets, so whatever your requirements we can find a solution. There are some questions we were always asked:
What kind of equipment do you use?
We film everything on professional broadcast-quality HD video cameras and use additional kit – such as radio mics, lighting kit, or green screen – where appropriate. We continually invest in new kit and software to keep up-to-date with the rapidly changing standards of the industry.
In what format will I receive my video files?
We usually supply our finished videos in the most commonly used formats, typically .mp4 or .mov. However we’re happy to convert these into pretty much any other format free of charge.
The final video will be formatted to play out smoothly on your chosen platforms – for example DVD, web, laptop, smartphone or tablet – and we can help copy the video to your devices if required. We’ll keep backup copies of any footage recorded for potential re-use in your future projects.
What about graphics and branding?
Alongside the filming we’ll create any motion graphics required for the video. These could range from a simple animated logo to a series of stylish infographics. We always use graphics in a way that complements rather than complicates the message of the video.
Do you do voiceovers and audio, too?
For some projects a voiceover can add an extra layer of professionalism, for example in high-level corporate presentations. In other cases it’s better to hear directly from your employees, clients or supporters. Either way we’ll edit any voiceover and audio clips together to deliver your messages in a clear and concise way. If a voiceover is required we’ll provide you with a range of different voiceover samples to choose from and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll also choose selection of music to complement the style of the video.
